When it comes to disadvantages the main issue with the shared hosting is of limited resources. In case if any of the website is getting higher traffic and utilizing all the provided  resources them then it creates load on that server, server performance goes down and ultimately harm to other website on that server. 

In shared hosting you are not allowed to install programs in according to your website need. It is maintained by web host to satisfy needs of average users or websites.
